Oakfield Search Limited – Privacy Notice

This privacy notice sets out how Oakfield Search Ltd uses and protects any information that you may provide if you choose to discuss your career options with one of our consultants. It explains how we comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the DPA (Data Protection Act) [pre GDPR enforcement] and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).


Oakfield Search Ltd is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified and contacted, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

What we collect

We only collect the information that you choose to send us or inform us of by telephone, electronic communications or hard copy. Usually this is an electronic copy of your CV/Curriculum vitae/resume. We may also have access to your profile on social media sites such as “Linkedin”, or “job boards” such as efinancial careers if you have added your details to such networks or websites.

Your curriculum vitae may contain information such as career history, date of birth, references, postal and or email address, phone number and salary information.


What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better Recruitment Service. We may periodically send emails about new career opportunities or job openings, interviews or something which we think you may find relevant to your career using the email address which you have provided.

Oakfield is a specialised International search and recruitment consultancy, working with a relatively small group of clients on a limited and select number of vacancies. As such none of our communication methods are automated, and if we contact you it will be regarding a specific issue which we believe will be of interest to your career.


Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information you have provided to us.

Our website may from time to time contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.


Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways: If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information, you may change your mind at any time by writing to or emailing us at eric.rance@oakfieldsearch.com 


We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We will send your information to our clients when we have jointly discussed a position by telephone or electronic means and you have confirmed to us either verbally or otherwise that you are happy for us to submit your details as a candidate for the position in question.


If you have sent us your CV it also on the understanding and with your permission that we may from time to time discuss potential roles on a speculative basis with clients to assess whether your experience may be suitable.


Data retention

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.


You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email eric.rance@oakfieldsearch.com in the first instance.
