Our client an international Fuel & Energy Trading firm provides biomass procurement, logistical and technical support for dedicated Biomass facilities and coal-fired power generators wishing to ‘co-fire’ biomass with coal.
The Trading firm is one of Europe’s largest suppliers of biomass. They are involved in all steps of biomass sourcing, trading and product development, activities include:
• procurement, supply and trading of a variety of biomass types from diverse geographic basins • active across the whole logistics chain • trading of Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) • testing, selection and development of biomass products
The Nordic market represents a significant biomass market opportunity and is a major step to the development of their global biomass business. The successful candidate will lead the Biomass business in the Nordic region (particularly in Sweden and Denmark).
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for developing our Biomass business in the Nordic region, you will take the lead in developing this market, securing new and repeat business. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the sales process and strategic planning for the Nordic market • Acquire/convert sufficient new and repeat business • Assist in building sales and marketing plans • Attend, coordinate, conduct client calls, conferences and trade shows, and sales or educational seminars as needed Extensive travel, sometimes at short notice, within the Nordic region is required in order to develop relationships with clients.
Requirements:
• Experience related to biogas/biofuels/biomass production/combustion/co-firing will be beneficial • Experience conducting feasibility studies and/or evaluating applications to finance projects/businesses • A well established contact network in the Nordic region • An understanding of the national renewable energy and climate change policy and legislation in the Nordic region will be a plus • Fluent English and Danish or Swedish • The post will suit those with the ability to take their own initiative and work as part of a geographically and culturally diverse team
The role will be based in the office in Oslo, Norway. Our ideal candidate is likely to be located currently in Denmark or Sweden, for the right candidate we would consider working from home with continuous contact with the Biomass team in London.
